Michael AmbroziakMike Ambroziak is the founding member of Ambroziak Kitto LLC, a Denver based business law firm.  Mike provides legal counsel to a variety of businesses and business owners in the capacity of outside general counsel. Typical counsel ranges from corporate formation, investment, governance, M&A, and personnel matters, to real estate, financing, outsourcing, product/service development and an ongoing variety of contracts and complex commercial transactions in a variety of industries. In addition to these activities, Mike specializes in structuring and negotiating various transactions related to intellectual property commercialization and technology transfer (e.g., technology licensing, media transactions, etc). In 2009, Mike started Free Range Title LLC (www.freerangetitle.com) to provide full service in-house title insurance underwriting, escrow and related services to the law firm's many real estate investors and professionals.

Prior to founding the law firm in 2004, Mike was Senior Counsel for Sun Microsystems, Inc. where he negotiated a wide variety of corporate transactions ranging from strategic alliances, consulting, procurement and outsourcing to technology development, purchase, joint marketing and other non-standard international commercial transactions. Mike also provided intellectual property counsel on mergers, acquisition and investment matters, as well as product development and worldwide electronic commerce and Internet communications. 

Before joining Sun, Mike practiced with the Information Technology practice group of DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary where he represented Fortune 100 clients in significant Information Technology transactions, including: (a) telecommunications, fiber optic, VOIP, software and other information technology systems development, integration, maintenance, marketing and licensing; (b) strategic Internet alliances for automobile OEMs; and (c) telecommunications equipment procurement agreements in excess of $300 million.

Before practicing law, Mike managed operations for high-tech film and video post-production facilities serving the advertising, production and Silicon Valley business communities in Northern California and brings two decades of business experience in other technology, film, video & media businesses.

Mike is involved in his community and remains active in the arts. Over the years, he has worked with Chicago's Lawyers for the Creative Arts, the Mass Media Bureau of the Federal Communications Commissions and the legal department of Chicago's PBS Affiliate (WTTW Channel 11). He recently served for three years as board member and secretary for Colorado Lawyers for the Arts (COLA) and two years as a Colorado Film and Video Association Board Member. He has presented legal lectures to various media, business and arts related groups such as the National Association of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), the Aspen Institute, Rockies Venture Club, VidExpo, Denver Public Art Program, RiNo, Lakewood Arts Council, Colorado Film School, Regis University and various other colleges, and was selected by the Denver Business Journal “Best of The Bar Awards” as one of Colorado’s top three attorneys in Media and Communications.

Mike received his Juris Doctor and certification in Intellectual Property Law from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology and his Bachelor of Science in Speech from Northwestern University.
